Here's to another 5 years of blogging

5 years ago, I wrote the first ever entry on this blog. One hundred years ago, San Francisco was hit by an earthquake. Here's to (at least) another 5 years of blogging, and I hope that when the next big one strikes, we'll be more prepared.

The Engadget Store in Kuala Lumpur

Over the weekend, there was a big hoo-ha at technology superblog Engadget. Apparently there's a (physical) store that uses the Engadget name without permission. It turns out that this store is in my back yard - The MidValley Mega Mall in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Yesterday I hopped over to see whether it was real. My Treo 650 was at the ready to snap photos.

When I got there at a little over ten in the morning, there were not many shops open. But the now-famous Engadget Store was! The owner wasn't there, and the sole shop assistant wasn't able to provide much details. The shop is typical of small-ish computer shops. It didn't have very many products on display, and it sold mainly iPod and smartphone accessories (cases and the like), and wireless (WiFi) gear.

It's real, folks.
