Firefox unleashed

Get Firefox!

I've been using Firefox 1.0 Preview Release for about a week now. Yes, me and 1.6 million or so other users. I'm beginning to use it as my primary web browser now, replacing Safari on my iBook. I like the fact that it's compact, fast and stable. Firefox doesn't need any more new features (the RSS reader is good, but it's not essential) - just make it faster and smaller, please.

On my playlist - Joss Stone

cover

The Soul Sessions by Joss Stone has been a consistent item on my playlist for the past few months. It's an album full of cover versions, featuring familiar soul staples. I've always been a fan of soul music, and this album in part justifies my theory that they don't write any more good songs these days.

For the uninitiated, Joss Stone has been described as "a white teenager who sounds like a 30-year old black woman." She was 16 when she recorded The Soul Sessions.

Thanks to the wonders of -ahem- the Internet, I've managed to get my hands on Stone's new album, "Mind, Body & Soul" (which is supposed to be out next week). I've been listening to it for about two weeks, and it's definitely growing on me. I suppose part of it is because I'm already familiar with her style of singing.

Do check it out, it's worth your time.
